Eyeliner review: L'Oreal Infallible Lacquer liner 24hr

Hi everyone
I hope your doing well, and enjoying the some what of a warm weather in Winter. Today I will be reviewing the L'Oreal Infallable Laquer liner. I love a gel eyeliners, this type of eyeliners are easy to work with even though it does require a separate brush and a little bit of practice to use.

the product

Product Claims:
High-shine lacquer finish.
Smooth application.
Lasts 24 hours
product and brush
Blackest black, Bronze, Dark Slate, Espresso and Navy.

the product in the pot

Product Experience:
I bought the  color 175 Dark Slate you get 2.3 g or 0.081 oz. of product for $9.95. It also comes with a thin round shaped eyeliner brush which is not too bad.
To use the product I prefer to use my Real techniques fine liner brush or if I even want a thinner line I will use the bare escentuals fine liner brush. I don't have a lot of lid space so I try to get the thinnest line as much as possible. I also have oily eyelids which I find
When I bought this gel liner, I thought I was getting a grey colored eyeliner. But I was wrong the color is more a dark taupey brown color. The texture is very nice and smooth and the product just glides on your lids. This color isn't very harsh looking like a very warm brown with a lot of red in it nor it is as stark as a regular black liner.

the brush

Pros:
  • Has a very creamy consistency, I've had this for a while now and still applies smoothly.
  • Very pigmented
  • Inexpensive
  • Has a nice demi-matte finish
  • Dries and sets
  • Available at your local drugstore, Target or Walmart

swatch Dark slate

Cons:
  • There are limited shades available
  • Does not stay on my lids very long, I this disappeared after 3 hrs of wear time.
  • Needs to be set with an eye shadow

This cream eyeliners just did not work for me, I would have to set the liner with a matching eye shadow so it stays put and does not disappear on my lids.

  • The shadows are too soft and powdery creates a lot of fall out
  • The eyeshadow themselves break easily because they are so soft.

Skin care review: Botanics Mattifying Day Cream with SPF 15

Hi everyone,

I hope your doing well today I will be reviewing a moisturizer for you. As you all know I'm in love in my embryolisse mattifying moisturizer. It's such an excellent product and performs very well with my combination oily skin. My only annoyance with the product is that it is expensive for a moisturizer.
While I was target and was looking around the skin care aisle I found the brand Botanics by Boots.
Boots is a European drugstore or as they call high street brand. I have tried a few make up products from the line. I decided to pick up Botanics Mattifying moisturizer with SPF 15

Product claims:
All Day Shine Control, Hydrates & Protects.

  • Light weight formula
  • Non Greasy
  • Non comedogenic
  • Tighten pores

The lightweight formula absorbs quickly without greasiness to provide balanced hydration and lasting protection from shine. Visibly tightens pores. Non comedogenic. Active plant extract, Willowbark, is a natural source of salicylic acid, which helps refine skin texture and actively target imperfections.

Use every morning after cleansing.

1.69 oz.

Product Experience:
The product comes in a pot with a tight fitting lid and an inner seal. You get 1.69 fl oz 50 ml $13.99.
The product itself is a white, very light a some what runny moisturizer. It blends and is easily absorbed by my skin. Leaves a very soft, smooth and matt feeling. I didn't feel any dry or tight spots after using this moisturizer.
The product has an SPF 15 uses avemozene, octomozene and octocylene as an active ingredients. These 3 working together create a broad spectrum sun protection. They are called chemical sunscreen they protect you by absorbing or scattering UVA and UVB rays. So don't freak out because of the word chemical another term for this type of sunscreen is organic sunscreen.

For more information about chemical and physical sunscreen, visit this site http://www.skinacea.com, this site is very basic it explained the difference between a physical and chemical sunscreen in plain English.
Here is another very helpful website about sunscreen and how to use the product effectively http://www.melanomafoundation.org.
packaging
Pros:
  • Good every day moisturizer, doesn't leave tight areas on my skin.
  • A very light easy to blend moisturizer.
  • Leaves a soft smooth feeling after blending.
  • Doesn't leave that tacky feeling that most moisturizers do.
  • Leaves a nice matte look to the skin.
  • Uses chemical/organic sunscreen instead of a physical sunscreen.
  • Sunscreen will not cause any flash back during flash photography.
  • Inexpensive cost $13.00 for 1.7 fl oz.
  • Helps minimize pore size

sample

Cons
  • The product contains the minimal amount of sunscreen.
  • Packaging, I don't like having to dig in a pot of a moisturizer.
  • It takes 30 minutes for the sunscreen to kick in.
  • Some people are sensitive to chemical sunscreen.
  • The product is only available at Target and online.

All in all in is a pretty good moisturizer, it moisturizes and has sunscreen and doesn't leave my skin with dry tight spots like some drugstore moisturizers. It is worth trying especially if you have a combination oily skin.

Face brushes from left to right
chisel powder brush, chisel blush brush, angled brush, foundation brush
Product Expereince
Just like my coastal scents brushes when I first opened the kit, the brushes have the strong scent of turpentine. The brushes survived my first cleaning without any of the ferrule coming loose. The quality of these brushes a little better, I notice even after a few washes the brush hairs still shed like crazy. This is only happens with the face brushes not with the eye brush.
I noticed there is a wide variety of brushes and brush sizes. I have small eyes so I don't need that big of a brush but I like the fact that this brush covers a lot of surface area in one swipe.
I have used the foundation brush and it laid down my foundation nicely, I'm not sure if I will continue using this particular brush since I prefer to use a sponge or the stippling brush from my other kit.
Some of brushes can be scratchy like the  pencil brush

Eye brushes
blending fluff brush,Oval shadow brush, oval lip brush, lash fan
Pros:
  • Has a good set of brushes with a variety without repeating the same brush over and over.
  • Comes with a carrying/storage case
  • Inexpensive
Angled blender brush, mini smudger brush
Cons:
  • Has the same weird and hard to remove turpentine scent.
  • A lot of face brushes sheds like crazy.
  • Some brush hairs are still scratchy even after a few deep cleanings
  • Hit and miss quality of the brushes
  • Some brushes cotains dyes, so when you deep clean the brushes the dyes runs out.
  • Can only be purchased online at the website or hautelook.com
concealer brush, anged eyeliner brush, flat liner brush
I very disappointed with these brushes, the quality is just hit and miss the face brushes sheds like crazy even after washing. Invest your money else where, there are much better quality brushes out in the market at the same if not cheaper price tag.

BB cream review: Missha M Signature Real complete BB cream

Hi everyone, I hope your having a wonderful time and enjoying the nice weather.
Today I will be reviewing the Missha M Signature Real Complete BB cream. I've been very curious with the Missha line of BB creams. I heard a lot of wonderful things about this brand of BB creams. I wanted to try the original formula but for whatever reason the product keeps going out of stock.

the product
Product claims:

Missha M Signature Real Complete BB Cream is a multi-function BB Cream with perfect coverage, has good adhesions and is long-lasting. Skin lipid which is similar to skin and paten ingredient of Amino Acid Complex strengthen Natural Moisture Factor (NMF) and balance oil and moisture on the skin to help makeup.

With fine particles by Micro multi rolling grinding technology and botanical ingredients of skin melting, it softly and lightly adheres to the skin, but with perfect coverage, leaving the skin comfortable and clean all day long.

With organic ingredients by Ecocert, natural healing complex of skin calming patent ingredient and 7 – free formula, it minimizes irritations. Containing peptide complex, gingko water and 50 kinds of botanical complex, it provides abundant moisture and nutrients to the skin to help make it healthy.

Benefits:
  • Wrinkle Repair
  • Whitening
  • UV Protection
  • Long-Lasting
  • Minimizes Irritations
  • Moisturizes
  • Nourishes
How to Apply:
Take an appropriate amount and apply a small dab to your cheeks, forehead, and chin. With the tips of your fingers spread bb cream evenly throughout your face. To avoid bb cream from caking, let sit for 5 minutes before building bb cream up for more coverage, and before apply any loose powders to set it with.
pump

Product experience:
This BB cream comes in a hard plastic tube. It has a pump and cap that fits snugly. Packing is really and well thought off. The pump however is some what of annoyance. This BB cream is meant to be stored up right so all the product pools close to pump. You get 45 g of product for $35 USD, there are 2 shades available #21 Light pink beige and #23 natural yellow beige.
The BB cream itself is thick and feels dry BB cream. It has a medium but build able coverage. So it will even out your skin tone but will not hide those really bad acne spots or sun spots. It's a dry BB cream so it's great for anyone who has combination oily skin even extremely oily skin. I have a combination oily skin but I find this BB cream to be drying. I always use a moisturizer underneath and just for added protection some type of primer that is silicone based.
This BB cream is easy to blend you can use your fingers for a fast application or use a buffing brush for a natural yet flawless coverage. I prefer to use the Samantha Chapman expert face brush with this BB cream.
I used this during one of the coldest days here in So Cal but everything held up pretty well. During winter/ cooler days I stayed oil free for 9 hours
During summer time this lasted about 4 hours by around 1 and 2 pm the hottest time of the day my nose area is very shinny and I could see a little bit of shine on my forehead and chin. The other parts of my face remained matte.
I think I can get away without applying moisturizer on my skin during summer time.

fresh swatch
Pros:
  • Comes in a hard plastic tube, pump and cap. Making this great for travel and very sanitary.
  • The texture is thick and some what dry, making this BB cream good for oily to combination oily skin. If your combination oily  make sure to moisturize first  or apply primer as this BB cream can be drying.
  • Easy to use and blends easily.
  • Contains sun protection SPF 25
  • Long wearing
  • Controls oil very well
  • Has a matte finish
Cons:
  • Needs to be stored up right or else you will struggle getting the product out.
  • Not recommended for dry skin.
  • There is only 2 color available its not a perfect match for me but its workable.
  • The BB cream clings and emphasizes dry spots
  • Can only be purchased online.
  • Will cause flash back because of the high SPF.

I like this BB cream I will continue to use it. It will be great for summer time because is long wear, controls oil and has high SPF. Recommended for oily or combination oily skin.

Skin care product review: Embryolisse Hyrda-mat Emulsion freshness care

Hi Everyone

I hope your doing well  Today I will be reviewing the product Hydra-mat Emulsion freshness care by the brand Embryolisse. I've heard about this particular brand in the beauty community. Mostly I hear about the moisturizer lait creme concentre which a moisturiser for dry to extremely dry skin. Since I don't have dry skin I'm more combination oily. I had to look for another product that would suite my skin type. Hautelook was having a sale on Embryolisse products a few months ago and decided to try this French skin care brand.

Product Claims:
Embryolisse- more than 60 years of experience of pharmaceutical skincare products
In 1950, a dermatologist at a hospital in Paris specialising in skin pathologies created Embryolisse Lait-creme concentre. It was quickly taken up by the medical profession because of its amazing effectiveness and passed on from generation to generation - sixty years later it is now a legend with millions of devotees all over the world.
  • It had formed the basis of a full range of dermo-cosmetic care products developed by laboratories Embryolisse using the same philosophy - providing the skin with its essential requirements - and maintaining the same demands in terms of effectiveness and tolerance.
  • The success of Embryolisse is based on visible results produced by the selection of natural ingredients with a long medicinal tradition (nourishing, moisturising complex rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, combining shea butter, beeswax, aloe vera and soy proteins) combined withe leading-edge dermatological active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and collage.
  • It Acts like a nourishing sap, providing the skin with all it's essential nutriments, saturating it with water, leaving healthy, soft and toned, repulped and visibly smoothed; even the driest most sensitive skin will feel well and truly pampered.
  • Maximum tolerance - Embryolisse products are developed under pharmaceutical supervision and tested by dermatologist. To minimise the likelihood of allergy, they are formulated using a limited number of carefully selected ingredients - there are no unnecessary ingredients so that the skin is sensitised unnecessarily. There is only what is essential - quite simply.

Emulsion Hydra-Mat (Hydra-Mat Emulsion)
Emulsion Hydra-Mat (Hydra-Mat Emulsion) Ensures optimal moisturizing and a long lasting matt effect. It absorbs excessive sebum and reduces shininess. Skin is toned with Apricot Oil.
Size: 40 ml jar – 1.4 OZ
swatch
Product Experience:
When I first received the product I noticed that there is no English translation on the box. Duh it's french skin care. The products comes in a squeeze tube you get 1.4 fl oz or 40 ml regular price is $40 USD I bought mine from hautelook.com so I paid $28 USD it still on the pricey side but I really wanted to try this French skin care brand so I took the plunge.
I just take a pea size amount and spread the moisturiser evenly on to face and neck. The moisturizer feels very light on the skin. The moisturizer feels like it is easily absorbed and doesn't leave a tacky feeling like most moisturizers do. The moisturizer will hydrate your dry spots and mattify your oilyer parts
The moisturizer held up pretty well on its own, I used this during mild spring weather I was mostly in doors it kept me oil free for 6 hrs without touch ups.
In the summer or hotter weather this moisturizer kept me oil free for about 4 hours without any touch ups.

Pros:
  • Kept me oil free for most of the day.
  • The moisturizer is easily absorbed by my skin and did not leave any greasy or tacky feeling.
  • Good day time moisturizer because it can control oil for a few hours depending on your skin and weather.
  • Perfect for layering under makeup, will provide extra oil control and will help your make up last longer.
  • Does not contain any sun protection and will not cause any flash back with any flash photography.
  • It's a light cream but hydrating, I didn't feel any tight or dry spots at all.

Cons:
  • Expensive, regular price for this product is $40 USD. Try to keep an eye out for this product any discount website.
  • Does not contain any sun protection, you'll need to apply a separate sunscreen/sunblock if your using this moisturizer in the day time.
  • Can be hard to find, can be purchased online at Embryolisse.com, hautelook.com, certain specialty stores check the website for stores that carry Embryolisse products.
  • Has a mild musky scent but it's not irritating.
I like this product and it controlled my oily spots but did not accentuate my dry spots. It's a great every day moisturizer for oily girls like myself. The only issue I have with this product is the price tag. Embryolisse is expensive, so I might just use this moisturizer for special occasions to layer under make up and have a different every day moisturizer.
